Charlotte’s Garden is a haven for Texas Hill Country Pollinators like bees, birds and butterflies.
Located between Center Point and Camp Verde and perched atop a rolling hill, Mother Nature started the 15 x 30 foot plot with five Lantana shrubs and a small Oak tree.
Taking it from there, I’ll be adding other native plants to further support local and visiting pollinators.
Additionally, I hope the garden will provide me and others who loved Charlotte a peaceful place to be.
It’s very early in the life of the garden.

The BEFORE story is here.
I’ll be updating as the garden grows. There’s an email sign-up form at the bottom of this post if you’d like to know when I do.

The Buzz in Charlotte’s Garden
Since the goal here is to attract pollinators, an ongoing, informal count seems appropriate.
| POLLINATOR | Season | Count |
| Golden Brown Butterfly* | Summer | 1 |
* I downloaded the iNaturalist app so I’ll be better prepared next time : )
Vision for Char’s Gar
The best food source for any creature is naturally occurring.
Starting with the yellow and orange blooming Lantana, I’ll be adding other local flowering, drought- and deer-resistant, pollinator preferred plants like Verbena, Milkweed and Sage.
Native limestone from the property will give the garden some structure and I’m shopping for a solar-powered fountain to provide fresh water for the butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, bats and other critters.
If you are interested in supporting this from-the-heart project dedicated to a cherished friend, I invite you to shop A Tiny Band of Artisans online store. Proceeds from these Thank You Notes will help fund and maintain Charlotte’s Garden.
Peace & Pollinators, y’all!
